I’m not lying when I tell you that I’m already getting excited for July 4^th.  I know- it’s almost two months away.  But still, we all have our favorite holidays, and mine is where we celebrate the red, the white, and the blue.  The most patriotic and fun- filled day of summer is quickly approaching and this year we want to make sure our SwimSpot customers have all the ingredients needed for a memorable 4^th.  First things first, a festive swimsuit and matching cover up are numbers one and two on our list.  With it being Independence Day and all, the American red, white and blue colors will not only be covering the town but most importantly, you!  A holiday like 4^th of July can include a wide range of activities like going to the beach, riding bikes, playing volleyball, or simply laying on the beach.  For the more active Independence Day celebrant I recommend a swimsuit with more coverage and comfort, like the Ella Moss Solids One Piece, which still has the festive red tone and feminine touch of a bow and ruffles around the lower waist.  For the girls who are wanting to show some skin, I recommend a Splendid Marcel Stripe Sweetheart Bikini Top and Bottom.  A cover up is a definite must to pack in your beach bag.  Either swimsuit goes well with a simple navy Nautica Classic Solids Pull Over Dress or a Nautica Under The Sea Tunic, which are perfect to stay cozy in while watching the holidays staple celebration, fireworks!

Now that we have our outfit out of the way… The rest of our list for a memorable and exciting 4^th includes, a good group of friends, recipes for a festive BBQ, fireworks and most importantly, sunscreen!  Unfortunately the 4^th is on a Wednesday this year but that doesn’t mean we can’t take the afternoon off to play in our swimsuits with our best girlfriends.  Personally, I will be in my swimsuit by noon on the beach, donning my patriotic accessories and enjoying the sweet summer sun.  However, for those of us who will be outside all day, we cannot forget to apply and reapply sunscreen.  I know for me, I always have a high SPF and oil-free sunscreen in my beach bag that I put on anytime I feel I’m getting a bit too toasty.  My favorite brand is Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch because it absorbs fast and leaves my skin soft and oil-free, while also protecting me from harsh rays.

After following this recipe for a memorable 4^th of July, I think our patriotic swimsuits and festive parties will prove to our country just how much we love her!  I hope everyone has a safe and fun 4^th of July!
