Fall is finally here! Time to dig up those scarves, boots, and cardigans buried deep inside your closet. In terms of fashion, this is definitely my favorite time of year – I especially love the bold pops of color that are trending this season. And of course, the layers!
But unfortunately, being bundled up in sweaters and coats doesn’t quite give me the motivation to work out. I won’t be sporting a bikini any time soon anyways so what’s the point, right?
Wrong! We’re all aiming for that perfect beach body once Spring rolls along, so why not start working for it now? Getting toned and fit is a gradual process—although I’m sure we all wish it would happen overnight. Swimsuit season will be coming around the corner before you know it, so save yourself from the intense dieting and exercise the week before spring break and start now!

Fall is one of the most exciting and fun seasons when it comes to fashion. It is the transition between light, flirty summer and frosty, dreary winter. This year’s color trends for Fall 2011 are not the usual brown and slate colors—they’re fun, flexible and lively! Don’t be afraid to show off some bright colors this fall. Hues of red, orange, and fuchsia were seen all over the runways during New York Fashion Week.
As you adjust your wardrobe accordingly to the season, it’s just as important to change up your make-up color palette. This season’s hottest make-up trends include smokey shimmery eyes, pink cheeks, and bold lips.
I’m not a professional make-up artist, but I wanted to share some of my favorite products of the season—both high-end cosmetics the stars show off on the red carpet as well as makeup for the more budget-conscious consumer. You can just as easily achieve these hot runway trends and look flawless for fall.

Kim Kardashian has made a name for herself, not only in the fashion world, but also in the merchandising and entertainment world. This summer her iconic last name was changed and she is now the new Mrs. Kris Humphrey. Sorry Reggie.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that she just recently married the NBA player Kris Humphrey (he is stuck playing for the lowly Nets) and the two spent their honeymoon on the coast of Italy this summer. Of course the paparazzi took this opportunity to snap shots of the newlyweds and of Kim’s most prominent asset (no pun intended). She even donned a pair of personalized swimsuit bottoms that read “Mrs. Humphries” on her rear, along with some printed swimsuits like the one depicted. With a flawless body like hers she could wear a banana leaf and make it look good. But of course she can afford to take a more style-conscious approach.

It’s only been a couple of weeks, but I’m loving my internship at SwimSpot- a company that sells women’s swimwear. Why do I love it? Two reasons. I get to look at cute little bikinis like this Reef Stargazer Sweetheart Bikini all day but more importantly, SwimSpot loves to give back. Loves to support our local community. And we certainly have fun doing it.
My sorority – Kappa Alpha Theta – and I are staging a fundraiser event this upcoming Tuesday (September 27th) at the Sandhu Conference Center on Chapman University Campus from 6:30-10:00p.m. Sales of admission and raffle tickets for KATWalk, our annual charity fashion show, will help raise much needed proceeds for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). CASA matches up young, professional mentors with foster children having to deal with legal issues. The mentors help provide the youth with a more confident voice in court as they go through an emotionally trying and arduous process.

This year SwimSpot is proud to be a part of Fashion’s Night Out (FNO). Fashion’s Night Out is a global initiative, sponsored by Vogue and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). It began in 2009 as a means to encourage consumers to shop and support the fashion industry during the tough economic climate. This event has since expanded to more than 16 countries and will occur over the span of eight days to maximize traffic in the individual retail environment. For a third year in a row, celebrities, designers and stars will perform and mingle with shoppers as they take part in FNO- exclusive events and snap-up special designs.
