Cowboy boots, worn out jeans and a flannel pearl snap shirt is what most people think of when they hear the word country. These country stars wore nothing remotely close to the rugged cowboy look, at the 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. Instead, these country stars were drenched in bold color, edgy accessories and sported beautiful tans as they rocked their way down the orange carpet. We’re dishin’ on the scorching hot looks that raised Sin City’s already high temperature!
Miss Carrie Underwood made history by becoming the first woman to take Entertainer of the Year, not once, but twice. Underwood celebrated her victories in a plunging full-skirted Rafael Cennamo minidress, showing off her toned legs. The mini was paired with crystal T-strap platforms by Stuart Weitzman. The look was sizzling and perfect to coincide with Las Vegas weather!
Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland sported the Rocker-Chic look Sunday evening, while most wore soft pastels or bold color. She accented her black strapless gown with an oversized silver pendant and short black necklace. We personally think she should have gone to a more simpler route by sticking with one necklace instead of two. She pulled off the sexy smoky eye making her gorgeous eyes pop. And props for her clutch, our favorite accessory from Jennifer.
Lady A took home three awards including: song of the year, single of the year and vocal group. Lady Antebellum’s fans may have been a little bummed they didn’t win the Album of the year, but they can’t win ‘em all. The trio looked dynamic. Dave Haywood wore a skinny printed tie with a black tuxedo shirt and jacket, Charles Kelley rocked a white and black ensemble, and Hillary Scott was easily put -pretty in pink! Together their outfits hit the high notes as the fans screamed for more!
TSWIFT looked like a fairytale that graced the carpet Sunday. Her Marchesca chiffon embroidered gown was paired with Christian Louboutin shoes and Neil Lane jewels! Taylor always looks so put together, never anything short of stunning. This busy 20 year old performed Friday night in front of a sold out audience at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. No rest for the wicked!
Former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Julianne Hough dazzled everyone in her fancy frock. She wore a white dress with metallic detailing showcasing her glowing tan. Take note – she had a half-up hairdo, which is now beginning to trend up again. We at SwimSpot can’t wait to listen to her new tunes, and better yet see her music videos that encompass both her voice and her dance moves!
When Jake Owen arrived on the orange carpet let’s just say hearts melted! Shaggy hair and scruff mixed with a grey structured jacket equals absolute perfection. He knows how to pull together a polished look but at the same time keep it low key. Bravo Jakey.
