Advisory Board - Bikini Body Tips

Stuck in your same ol’ workout routine? Adriana, Dana, Katty and Thea share their own personal exercise routines! And don’t forget that Thea works at Women’s Health so she knows all the ins and outs of workout routines. These fashionistas not only know fashion, they know how to get the perfect bikini body too!

Adriana’s Bikini Body Tip –
I am a huge fan of cardio kickboxing, but I like to mix it up too. On my off-days I get outdoors to bike, hike, or take a long vigorous walk. It’s always good to give your muscles a little breather after an energetic kickboxing class. As for my diet, I try to eat smaller portions to give my metabolism that extra boost. I try to cut back on carbohydrates and sugars and push for fruits, raw vegetables and high protein instead.

Dana’s Bikini Body Tip -
An obvious and often overlooked exercise is walking. You know that saying  -  "Slow and steady wins the race" -  well it’s the truth! I personally walk three to four miles a day with my pet pug dog, Paulie. Nothing strengthens the body and clears the mind like a great walk! I remember a Vogue interview with legendary fashionista Audrey Hepburn who said that the key to her stunning look was dancing and walking. A great tip is to pick a place that is visually stimulating, even if you have to drive a few miles to get there. My pug and I walk along the Hudson River in Edgewater, New Jersey with the glorious Manhattan skyline across the water to inspire us. I grab a Smart Water to keep hydrated. Also, when you walk along the water your body takes in positive ions and more oxygen which promotes health and youth. Not complicated, but very effective.

Katty’s Bikini Body Tip –
I personally feel that your workout warm-up can turn into your actual workout. Stretching is a great way to get limber and lean. You may feel like you’re in elementary gym class when you’re doing jumping jacks, but if it works, it works! My favorite stretches include the butterfly, slow motion mountain climber and the crossover jumping jack. You can find stretches that work every part of your body. And you can do them all in the comfort of your own home. I usually end my stretching routine with a light jog around my neighborhood.

Thea’s Bikini Body Tip –
I’ve recently aligned myself with the new rope-climbing machine at my gym. It took about ten minutes for my gym buddy and me to figure out how to use it, but the end result was epic! And I love it that hot guys are paying attention to us. The machine offers both strength and cardio workouts depending on the intensity and duration of your workout.  You can isolate different muscles by modifying the angle of the rope or simply by standing. This exercise is making me buff. Look out boys, I’m going to pass you up.

Feel free to pick their brains on these spectacular workout routines. We will most definitely try the rope climbing machine, as well as cutting back on carbohydrates and sugars. No more Mountain Dew for us! What will you try?
