Fall 2010: Above-the-shoulder Haircuts

The days are getting shorter as we’re diving into fall, and so are hairstyles. With more and more celebs opting for shorter styles, maybe it’s finally time to try something new and cut off your long locks. Start stocking up on scarves, because your hair sure isn’t going to be keeping your neck warm this season.

Pixie Haircut
Emma Watson chopped off her feminine Hermoine locks in favor of another magical character’s coif: Peter Pan. She proves that it’s still possible to be girly with a boyish haircut. It’s a fabulous way to take the attention off your overbearing hair and direct it towards your eye makeup! Tip – if you are petite this style is perfect for you and will show off your delicate features!

The Bob
The ever-classic bob haircut has always been a choice for some of the most refined ladies in Hollywood. Keira Knightly recently began sporting a bob, which accentuates her feminine features much more than her longer tresses.

The In-Between
If the pixie is way too short and the bob just isn’t your style, try going in between like Michelle Williams for a happy medium. To amp up your look wear a bold, statement necklace. There are so many fabulous necklaces out there right now, especially at Anthro!

Overall the shorter style will having you looking city chic, not to mention your hair prepping time in the morning will be cut in half. And when you take a dip in the Jacuzzi with your Hurley bikini your locks won’t get soaked. So we look at it as a win-win situation!
