GOALS!!!!!

I read some interesting articles and words of wisdom on fitness this past weekend.  One piece of wisdom that hit home with me was an article on, "What are your Goals?"  Being as that I am 6 months pregnant, I felt like, well, what can I strive for?  Basically, a healthy pregnancy that I bounce back from.  But, beyond that, what are my personal goals?  So I ask you, what are YOUR GOALS?

I thought what a great time to reflect!  This year is coming to an end but it is still not to late to make some goals.  Are you meeting your expectations when it comes to health and fitness?  Are you making time for yourself?  Are you making time for your loved ones?  What about down time?  Are you paying those bills off?

Assignment:

1) Make a list of all the things you would like to do this year - a 5 K, lose 10 pounds, make more time for your family, create down time where you can read and have a cup of tea, get a promotion, feel great in a bathing suit come summer, etc.

2) Narrow the list down to two goals.  Narrowing our goals down makes them more realistic and attainable.

3) Create time in your schedule to work towards these two goals or meet these goals.  For example, schedule a date night every other week with your significant other OR plan out your meals for the week so you stick with a nutrition regimen OR, schedule time to work out/run/swim/do yoga like an important business meeting.

4) Once you have a plan in place and time cut out to meet your goal, start working towards it.

5) Tell a friend or loved one about your goal(s) so they can hold you accountable.  Your odds of success increase if you share your aspirations with others.

  • Look Good, Feel GoodFall is finally here! Time to dig up those scarves, boots, and cardigans buried deep inside your closet. In terms of fashion, this is definitely my favorite time of year – I especially love the bold pops of color that are trending this season. And of course, the layers! But unfortunately, being bundled up in sweaters and coats doesn’t quite give me the motivation to work out. I won’t be sporting a bikini any time soon anyways so what’s the point, right? Wrong! We’re all aiming for that perfect beach body once Spring rolls along, so why not start working for it now? Getting toned and fit is a gradual process—although I’m sure we all wish it would happen overnight. Swimsuit season will be coming around the corner before you know it, so save yourself from the intense dieting and exercise the week before spring break and start now!
