Gyms are getting crowded, and that girl on the elliptical does not look like she will be getting off of it anytime soon. “Why is there so many people at the gym lately?,” you ask. With the start of the 2011, masses of newcomers are heading their way to the gym to stick to their New Year’s resolution to get fit. Don’t worry, the amount of people going to the gym will start to dwindle down once January’s over and people start forgetting about their New Year’s resolution. But hey, that shouldn’t stop you from continuing to go to the gym. Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing people get healthy, but when newbies don’t know proper gym etiquette, it can get annoying. Let me save you the trouble of being one of those people by going over some gym code of conduct. I promise you, it’s as easy as using our Bikini Builder application.
Always, ALWAYS, ALWAYS clean equipment properly:
What’s more gross than having the person before you sweat all over the treadmill and walk away to the next machine without cleaning it? The gym is breeding ground for germs; so why don’t we do our part by cleaning the equipment we use thoroughly. Many gyms have disinfectant towels for you to do just that. You might want to clean the machine before using it as well because you never know if the person before you did. Viruses can linger on gym equipment, so it’s better to be safe than sorry. And don’t forget to bring your own towel to wipe off those hard earned beads of sweat from your forehead.
Stick to the time limit:
With newbies hitting the gym on a daily basis, the cardio area is bound to be busy. Take into consideration that other people will want to torch calories on the elliptical, so be kind and give someone else a chance.Especially if you know people are waiting for cardio, try going to a different machine to work out other parts of your body and coming back to the elliptical later. Sharing is caring!
Practice proper hygiene:
This shouldn’t be an issue but it is. Gyms are already smelly places with people sweating in it so let’s not add bad hygiene to it. Make sure the clothes you decide to work out in are clean. Putting on some deodorant before working out isn’t a bad idea either. You’ll make more work out buddies that way too, I promise. A bonus tip ladies – opt for the Next by Athena tankini and cropped pant. Designed to wick away moisture for comfort and coolness you’ll be the best dressed babe on the treadmill.
Stop wasting time & start exercising:
The gym would be a happier place without hearing the conversations you have on your cell phone. The gym can be loud enough with all the people there so adding to the noise with the drama you’re having with your boyfriend can be a bit distracting and annoying. Working out without your cell phone is more effective that way, believe me. Also, going on the treadmill on speed 1 while reading your book is not cardio. Let’s stick to exercising instead of leisurely reading at the gym. You can read and walk at the park if you want, it’s less crowded and much more peaceful.
We at SwimSpot love staying fit, especially since swimsuit season is coming in just a few months. So let’s stick to our New Year’s resolutions to getting that ultimate bikini bod like Jessica Biel. Just don’t forget those gym etiquette tips I gave you the next time you head over to the gym.
