Katty Answers Poolside Questions

If you haven’t made your debut beachside yet, get ready because it’s that time of year! Nervous to strut your stuff poolside? Don’t be, if you’ve been working your butt off in the gym it’s time to show off your hard work. I’m here to answer all questions beach, beauty, body and bronze.

Q: Sunscreen makes me break out? Help!
A: I’m glad you’re keeping your face looking young by wearing sunscreen. Try using an oil free and fragrance free sunscreen for your face. You can find several options that range from 8 – 30 SPF. Or if you need a sunscreen break from your face, try a sun hat! They are so chic and most definitely in style!

Q: I get bored when chilling poolside. Any ideas?
A: I think of pool time as “me” time. I bring my iPod, that book I’ve been trying to read but never have the time for, and some good ol’ H2O. Pool time can also be a good time to catch up with long lost buddies and family members. Try giving them a ring while you are basking in the sun and who knows, maybe you’ll rekindle that long lost relationship!

Q: I’m an active girl who still wants cute swimwear? Do I really have to buy both yoga attire and a swimsuit?
A: Don’t fret! The Next by Athena line has you covered. Most pieces are good for not only downward dog but also for the cannon ball! Make a splash this summer with my favorite – Good Karma Racer Back Top and Banded Bottom.

Q: Will my leftover sunscreen work for this season?
A: Check the stamped date on the bottom of the sunscreen. If you can’t find it – the rule of thumb is it should still beat off sunrays for a good three years. In between pool sessions, store your sunscreen in a dry, room temperature place with the lid secure. If you’re rocking last season’s sunscreen, make sure you are sporting this season’s hottest swim trends!
