Slimmer in No Time

If you’re like me and started your New Year’s Resolution five months late (hey who’s counting anyway)  - I am here to fast track you into looking bikini bod ready. With a few extra hours a week at the gym, skipping dessert and knowing how to dress for your body type you will look instantly slimmer. And you will have the confidence you need to rock the beach!

Sweat It Out
Step away from the treadmill and into the group work out class. When you run on the treadmill daily you are working the same muscle groups over and over. Trade in 3 days of your running for a cardio class or Pilates. This will give your other muscle groups a chance to get toned and lengthened. Before you know it, you will be firmed up and ready to rock that 2 piece swimsuit!

Cut Back on the Dessert
My weakness is chocolate in any form– doesn’t matter if it’s brownies, cheesecake or ice cream! I just can’t get enough of it. But we all know it’s delicious only while you are eating it, but it then turns into unwanted pounds. I can’t go completely cold turkey on my chocolate cravings so a few times a week I indulge with 100 calorie dark chocolate pudding packs or chocolate frozen yogurt with strawberries for toppings. Recently I saw a commercial for Nature Valley’s Granola Thins – which may be my new chocolate pick- me-up. Thank goodness for the chocolate lovers like me who are making it easier to still nibble on chocolatey goodness without gaining any unwanted flab.

Dress for Your Body
With all the hard work you are putting in at the gym and eating right, it’s now time to accentuate your assets. By dressing for your body type you are creating the illusion of a slimmer you - which will happen with time!

Troublesome thighs? Try a skirted bottom or swimskirts – FYI this will be a hot, hot, HOT trend in 2011. Steer away from super tight boy shorts, which squeeze the biggest part of your thigh.

Not confident with your mid section? Tankinis will allow you to show off your toned arms and camouflage your tummy. If you want a sexy updated tankini look try the Peekaboo Tankini by Luxe By Lisa Vogel. Another option is a one piece swimsuit with tummy control. Tommy Hilfiger swimsuits are known to have this!

Have a boyish figure and need to create some curves? Ruffles will be your best friend. They create the illusion that you have more on top than you actually do.

By combining extra gym time, eating less desserts and dressing for your body type you will become slimmer in no time. Heck, who really needed to start that New Year’s Resolution in January anyway!
