Swing Away For Koman

SwimSpot and one of our favorite collections NEXT by Athena could not have been more proud to have participated as sponsors in the Oak Creek Golf Club Ladies Day Tourney Supporting Susan G Komen on May 3rd. The event was a blast for all those who competed in the 90+ degree sun. And we were first-hand eyewitnesses to a full “Pink-out” celebration of the breast cancer awareness cause.

Our Next Ambassadors, Kelly Paul and Amy Brown manned the 2nd hole and helped drive awareness of the silent auction, while also sharing the benefits of the NEXT swim & active wear line.

There were 124 fashionable golfers who played in the event, all fabulously decked out in pink! SwimSpot – and yes we’ll brag a little, one of the finest women’s swimwear websites on all of the web - and NEXT by Athena have already committed to be sponsors of next year’s event. On Tuesday the 3rd, more than $2,000 was raised for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Orange County Affiliate. We are gunning for a $5,000 goal in 2012.

We also want to point out that our friends at Handbago.com and Rikki Rosetta New York were also stepped up as sponsors and donated this gorgeous, pink ostrich calfskin leather Alexandra Satchel by Rikki Rosetta New York for the tournament (a good cause AND fashion!? What’s not to love!)

SwimSpot has been a dedicated supporter of the Susan G. Komen foundation since we first launched in 2009. For those of you who don’t know, Susan G. Komen for the Cure is an organization led by a large network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives and raise awareness for breast cancer care and research. According to the Susan G. Komen website, not only is breast cancer the leading cause of cancer death among women aged 40-59, but 1,900 men are diagnosed with breast cancer each year as well!

We are dedicated to making a difference in Orange County (where we are located for those of you who don’t know) and feel honored to be part of their global mission against breast cancer. We can’t wait for next year
If you want more info on the event, want to help out, or just want to hear more about SwimSpot and our activities, email me, Tako at fitspecialist@swimspot.com.

  • Look Good, Feel GoodFall is finally here! Time to dig up those scarves, boots, and cardigans buried deep inside your closet. In terms of fashion, this is definitely my favorite time of year – I especially love the bold pops of color that are trending this season. And of course, the layers! But unfortunately, being bundled up in sweaters and coats doesn’t quite give me the motivation to work out. I won’t be sporting a bikini any time soon anyways so what’s the point, right? Wrong! We’re all aiming for that perfect beach body once Spring rolls along, so why not start working for it now? Getting toned and fit is a gradual process—although I’m sure we all wish it would happen overnight. Swimsuit season will be coming around the corner before you know it, so save yourself from the intense dieting and exercise the week before spring break and start now!
