The Met Gala 2011

This year's Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala was held in honor of the late designer, Alexander McQueen.  McQueen is known for his amazing and an outrageous designs, which some of the starts proudly modeled as they walked the red carpet.  While some chose some daring and interesting ensembles, other stars preferred to keep it a little less dramatic.  I thought stars Zoe Saldana, Julianne Hough, and Dakota Fanning had some gorgeous dresses got me thinking of some women's swimwear choices for spring and summer!

Zoe Saldana wore a beautiful yellow strapless dress that is the perfect color for the warm weather.  The color and style were very flattering and accentuated her slender figure.  This immediately made me think of this lovely yellow bikini from Ella Moss.  The Endless Summer Bandeau Bikini is a great women’s swimwear piece that is on point with the bandeau and bright color trends that are popular right now.  By wearing this bikini, you are sure to look as sun-kissed and glamorous as Zoe when hitting the beach!

Also looking beautiful at the gala was Ryan Seacrest’s main squeeze, Julianne Hough.  She flowed across the red carpet in a cool multicolored gown.  The Athena Pick Your Fit-Taj Garden Isabella Cover Up resembles Julianne’s look.  This cover-up has a flattering drawstring empire waist and slits down the sides to keep you looking sexy.  It is the perfect cover-up for any women’s swimwear piece and is sure to keep you looking fabulous while lounging by the pool or wallking down the boardwalk.

The radiant young starlet, miss Dakota Fanning, looked cute and sophisticated in her gorgeous strapless crème and floral gown.  Her playful and youthful look can be captured with Spendid’s Blossom Bandeau Bikini, which also follows the bandeau trend. It has a detachable strap that can be worn for a different look and extra support. This women’s swimwear piece is super sweet and is a must for your summer collection!

Look to these designs when picking your look for the summer and you will feel as glam as these hollywood starlets!

  • Look Good, Feel GoodFall is finally here! Time to dig up those scarves, boots, and cardigans buried deep inside your closet. In terms of fashion, this is definitely my favorite time of year – I especially love the bold pops of color that are trending this season. And of course, the layers! But unfortunately, being bundled up in sweaters and coats doesn’t quite give me the motivation to work out. I won’t be sporting a bikini any time soon anyways so what’s the point, right? Wrong! We’re all aiming for that perfect beach body once Spring rolls along, so why not start working for it now? Getting toned and fit is a gradual process—although I’m sure we all wish it would happen overnight. Swimsuit season will be coming around the corner before you know it, so save yourself from the intense dieting and exercise the week before spring break and start now!
