I was surfing the net this week and came across some of the craziest yachts I’ve ever seen, definitely inspired me to start thinking about where I want to take my next get away! And yes, if given the chance of a lifetime to sport the yacht lifestyle, I would definitely bring with me a collection of SwimSpot’s finest suits of the 2011 swim season!
By far the most unbelievable ship (when these yachts are this big, they are closer to cruise ships) is Chelsea football club owner Roman Abramovich’s 560 footer, the Eclipse. Reportedly costing the Russian soccer tycoon $1.2 billion, it comes standard with 2 pools, a helipad, and its own submarine. I know if I was waiting for my helicopter to come get me as I’m lounging poolside, I’d want to have a little bling on my suit so the Luxe by Lisa Vogel Tate Bikini would be perfect. I love how classic and elegant the draping on this tankini bikini top looks, while still adding a little sparkle with the gems at the neckline and on the banded bikini bottom.
Coming in a close second is the yacht Dubai, owned by the Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Named after its country of residence, this 531 feet yacht has a squash room, spa, and several sun bathing areas. The perfect suit to soak in the sun in Dubai? The Athena Paradise Bikini. This fun, multicolored bikini is perfect for any adventure as you’re setting sail for Paradise in Dubai.
Last, but certainly not least is the impressive Al Said, owned by the Sultan of Oman. Perfect for sailing on this 508 foot mega-yacht is the Tommy Hilfiger Sail With Me Halter Bikini. I love the nautical navy and gold stripes on this bikini, and there’s just enough bling on the retro style bottoms with gold anchor button embellishment. Come night time, if I needed a cover up to go listen to the 50 piece band in the on board concert room, I can reach for my always elegant St. John Pebble Tunic. One of my favorite swimwear cover-ups, I love the way I can see this silk tunic blowing in the night breeze now.
Ok. If there’s anyone out there with a personal ship over 200 ft long, look me up. I will set sail with you – at least for a short spin around the world!
