I probably can’t drop everything and decide I’m packing up to travel to Italy, India and Bali but previews of “Eat, Pray, Love” alone have served as fashion inspiration! I’m loving the no-nonsense, loose-fitting, natural looks in the film- they’re definitely all clothes I can roll up, pack into my suitcase, and shake out at my destination. The looks are not just fashionably practical for traveling but for everyday wear, as well.
A simple chambray dress with brown gladiator sandals and a straw fedora to keep out the sun. Cinch at waist with a belt and you’re ready to walk around town. I also enjoy sporting my Splendid Abigail Tunic when I’m out and about for the day. Heck, you gotta love that it not only works as a cover up but for day time adventures too!
Cargo and military inspired items will be a huge trend this fall and into spring. Look for army inspired looks in a few of our lines that we will carry for 2011. Julia nails the look by pairing a cargo jacket with a pretty printed dress as she jet sets across the globe.
As Julia traveled through India, she sported bright, rich colors. Don’t be afraid to change things up with a splash of emerald green or tangerine. It’s a good summer time pick me up to mix in with your neutral wardrobe.
Texture, texture and texture. I love this look- embroidered linen, mustard tie-dye cardigan and a multicolor woven bag. Don’t be afraid to mix textures! If you love to mix it up so much, be sure to try our Bikini Builder to mix, match and mismatch.
My weekend plans most definitely entail a girls’ night out, sitting front row at “Eat, Pray, Love.” Which will probably lead to a Sunday afternoon of shopping, as I channel Julia’s jet setter style. I can’t wait to see more of Julia’s wardrobe as well as the gorgeous men and beautiful landscape!
