What does SwimSpot do with my personal information?
Your information is used to process your orders, to fulfill the purpose for which you provide your information, for internal purposes and to comply with any legal requirements. We may use this data internally only for two reasons: 1) to personalize your experience on the Website and the marketing materials you receive from SwimSpot or its partners; and 2) to prevent fraud on your account. By storing your personal information on a secure server, SwimSpot is able to shorten your checkout process and allow you to check your order status online. At SwimSpot, we also review what kinds of products appeal most to our customers as a group. This statistical information helps us improve our offering in the same way that other companies change their catalog based on what sells best. We may also use information about the kinds of products you buy from SwimSpot to make other marketing offers to you. Of course, you always have the option to opt out from receiving such offers (for instructions on how to opt out, please see "Does SwimSpot provide a way to update or remove personal information or to restrict sharing of my personal information?" and "How does SwimSpot use my e-mail address?").
How does SwimSpot use my e-mail address?
Your e-mail address is used to:
- Create and identify your account on our Website;
- Correspond with you about any orders that you may place or were in the process of placing;
- Notify you about the results of any promotions you may have entered; and
- Notify you about important functionality changes to the Website, new SwimSpot services and special offers and promotions we think you’ll find valuable.
If you would rather not receive this information or would like to opt out of receiving e-mail of this kind, simply click on the "Unsubscribe" link that appears at the bottom of any e-mail and follow the simple instructions to have your e-mail address removed from the list of customers who receive notices of new functionality, services, special offers and promotions. Alternately, if you have created an account with SwimSpot, you can also remove your e-mail address from our list of addresses that receive information about new products, services, sales and promotions by clicking on the "My Account" button that appears on almost every page of our Website, logging into your account, clicking on the "Edit Preferences" button, and making the appropriate change.
Does SwimSpot share any information it collects with outside parties?
How does SwimSpot safeguard my personal information?
SwimSpot has implemented a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of employees who have special access rights. When you place orders or access your personal information, we offer the use of a secure server. All sensitive information supplied by you is encrypted, transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and securely stored in SwimSpot’s database. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to our Website. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk.
Does SwimSpot provide a way to update or remove personal information or to restrict sharing of my personal information?
If you delete your User Contributions from the Website, copies of your User Contributions may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or might have been copied or stored by other Website users.
Does SwimSpot use "cookies"?
Do we collect personal information from SwimSpot visitors under the age of 13?
How does SwimSpot respond to "do not track" signals?
A "do not track" (DNT) signal is an option in your browser that allows you to opt out of the collection of your personal information about your online activities over time and across third-party websites or online services. By choosing to opt out, your browser emits a signal to different web services indicating that you do not wish your online activity and browsing to be tracked. SwimSpot does not honor DNT signals. However, we do not keep track of where you go on the World Wide Web. We do not collect personally identifiable information about your browsing activities across third-party websites or online services. However, other third parties such as Google Analytics may track your movement across multiple websites. We do not treat consumers whose browsers send a DNT signal differently than consumers without a DNT signal.
