1) Spring is OFFICIALLY here, what swim trend are you most excited about?
I'm super excited to see swim trends that incorporate pretty floral and leaf prints with bright and pastel colors, especially if it's off the shoulder or has a little peekaboo lace or mesh!
2) What message would you tell your thirteen year old self?
Stop being insecure and worrying about what others think of you all the time, it is okay to be true to yourself. NEVER be ashamed of who you are or where you come from. You are not the only person in the world who feels this way, whatever “this way” is that you’re feeling.
3) Favorite theme park…GO!
I've actually never been a fan of theme parks because I'm scared of rides and get claustrophobic in crowded areas. But if I had to pick one, it'll definitely be Disneyland only because I'm a HUGE Marvel geek!
4) Tell us a bit about your backstory and how you came to the US? Why did you want to blog?
I've always been very goal driven from a young age. I always dreamt big and knew I wanted to pursue my undergrad degree and build myself a career in the US. I am blessed with parents who knew this from the start and did whatever they could to give me this life that they knew I wanted. In 2014, I accomplished my first milestone and transferred from a college in Malaysia to Cal State Long Beach.
I knew I wanted a career in fashion marketing. I was interning for a fashion media website when I realized that instead of curating content for a website and receiving little to no credit for all my content, I could be building my own portfolio with my own website. So last summer in August, Marblelously Petite was born. My blog has brought me so much joy as I've met so many amazing girls through blogging and I love that I get to do what I love without any restrictions.
5) Name someone that encourages you daily and empowers you to be YOU?
My boyfriend (besides my parents) has been my biggest supporter. He is constantly cheering me on and encouraging me to be the best version of myself, even on days where I seriously start to question my life choices. I am blessed to have a boyfriend that constantly empowers me by telling me that I am beautiful and capable of great things.
6) During the Fit Specialist photoshoot, was there a moment that stuck out to you?
I loved meeting all the other Fit Specialists and getting to know them on a personal level! It's just nice to meet other bloggers and realize that we are all not alone - we are all just mere human beings embracing our imperfections together.
7) What’s the first thing you look for when shopping for swim?
I'm all about the details, so the first thing I usually look for are the pretty lace, mesh, or embellishment details!
8) What was your favorite swimsuit of the day?
My favorite suit was Luxe Aphrodite Ruffle Maillot One Piece! Like I said, l love the details that go into every swimsuit and i love that it's off shoulder and the cutouts and lace details on it.
9) Were there any swimsuits that surprised you?
The suit that surprised me the most was the Splendid Stitch Solid Bralette Bikini Top and Banded Bottom- I’m not one to wear a two piece swimsuit but I loved the color and the small stitching details. It actually fit really well and supported the girls!
10) Is there a particular blogger you look up to? If so, why?
My favorite blogger is Caitlin from Southern Curls and Pearls (@cmcoving). I absolutely ADORE her looks, her hair, her puppy, and I just feel like I resonate with her! She seems like such a sweetheart and totally down to earth despite all her achievements, too.
11) If you were to give a speech on swim shopping, how would you encourage women to get out there and own it?
I always hear women claim that they don't go to the beach or swim because they don't have a "bikini body". Well, big or small, cellulite or freckled, pasty or tan, EVERY body is a bikini body. We just have to own it and bare it with pride because YOU are uniquely beautiful. And remember that you don't have to like everything about yourself to actually love yourself.
12) If you had unlimited funds, what would be your go to travel destination?
Definitely the Caribbean! I would love to explore all the gorgeous islands and the surrounding coasts as I'm such a beach bum!
13) What is your advice for rocking swim?
My advice to women who are facing insecurities and lack of body love is actually just love yourself for who you are! There is no point in telling yourself that you’ll love yourself when you lose 10 pounds, because right now is the best time to embrace yourself and that's when your own uniqueness shines through!
